Corporate Entertainment Options, Honestly Compared
Six ways companies fill an event slot, what each one actually costs, what group size it holds, and where each one falls down. Including ours, with its real limits.
CHOOSING A FORMAT
Most Comparison Pages Are Written to Win. This One Is Not.
Every option below is a genuinely good choice for some group. The question is never which is best, it is which is best for your headcount, your room and what you want people doing afterwards.
We run hosted game shows, so we have an obvious preference. Rather than hide it, we have written the limits of our own format in plain sight. If your group is eight people who already know each other well, we will tell you to book something else.
SIX FORMATS
What Each Option Is Actually Good At
Read the weakness line first. It is the one that decides most bookings.
Hosted game show
Holds: 20 to 300+ in one room. Strong at: mixing departments, big groups, hybrid teams. Weak at: very small groups, and anyone wanting a quiet event. It is loud on purpose.
Escape room
Holds: 6 to 10 per room. Strong at: genuine problem solving in a small team. Weak at: anything over about 30, because the group is split across rooms and never shares one experience.
Facilitated workshop
Holds: 10 to 40. Strong at: a specific behavioural outcome you can name. Weak at: voluntary energy. People who dread team building are usually picturing this.
Band, DJ or comedian
Holds: any size. Strong at: atmosphere for an evening or an awards night. Weak at: connection. The room watches a stage rather than each other, so nobody meets anyone new.
Trivia night app
Holds: any size. Strong at: low cost and easy setup. Weak at: the room. Without a host to drive it, energy dies after two rounds and people drift back to their phones.
Offsite day out
Holds: varies. Strong at: a genuine change of scene. Weak at: cost and logistics. Travel and venue often cost more than the activity, and a full day is a lot to ask.

THE HONEST VERSION
When We Are Not the Right Answer
Book something else if
- Your group is under about 10. The format needs enough people for teams to matter. A small group is better served by a meal or an escape room.
- You need a measurable training outcome. If HR needs to evidence a specific competency, book a facilitator. We build connection, not a curriculum.
- You want a quiet, seated evening. This is a loud format. If the brief is background atmosphere while people talk, a musician suits you better.
- Your team is fully remote and always will be. We can include remote colleagues, but the format is at its best when most of the room is physically together.
Book us if
- You have 20 to 300+ people who do not all know each other.
- You want departments mixed rather than sat with their own team.
- You have a room and a time slot rather than a budget for a whole day out.
- You have run a workshop before and watched the room endure it.

Common Questions About Choosing a Game Show Format
Is a game show better than an escape room for team building?
It depends almost entirely on group size. Escape rooms hold six to ten people per room, so a team of 60 is split into six separate experiences and never shares one. A hosted game show keeps 20 to 300+ people in a single room competing against each other. For a small team wanting genuine problem solving, an escape room is the better choice.
What is the cheapest corporate entertainment option?
A trivia app is the lowest cost and it is honest to say so. What you save is real, and what you lose is the host. Without someone driving the room, energy typically fades after a couple of rounds. Whether that trade is worth it depends on whether the event needs to achieve anything beyond filling an hour.
What works for a very large group?
Formats that do not need to split people up. That means hosted game shows, a speaker, or a band. Escape rooms and most workshop formats have a hard ceiling and will divide a large group into separate sessions.
How much should we budget for corporate entertainment?
90-minute hosted shows start at $2,995 for groups of 20 or more. Use our pricing estimator to see the range for your group size. Other formats vary widely by supplier and region, so treat any single quoted figure with caution.
What if we want people to actually talk to each other?
Then the deciding question is whether the format puts your people on the stage or in the audience. Bands, comedians and speakers are watched. Game shows, escape rooms and workshops are played. Only the first group of those holds a large room together at once.
