WHY IT MATTERS

Why Most Corporate Give-Back Events Don’t Build Real Engagement

A donation-matching email or a single volunteer afternoon checks a CSR box, but it rarely brings a department together or gives employees a memory to attach to the cause. It’s PlayTyme’s CSR Game Show fixes that by making the giving itself the competition: teams play to win, and winning means directing real money to a cause they chose.

Purpose and Play, in the Same Room

WHY LIVE GAME SHOWS WORK FOR CSR

Traditional CSR events ask people to show up and watch, or write a check and move on. A hosted game show gets the entire room competing at once, mixing departments and seniority levels, which means the giving becomes something the team did together rather than something the company did on their behalf. It also leaves companies with something concrete for internal comms or ESG reporting: real dollars given, on camera, decided by employees in real time.

HOW IT WORKS

The CSR Game Show Format

Built from a model that’s already worked live in NYC: a corporate department is split into teams (sized to the group, typically 8-12 people each), and the group plays five rounds, each a different format pulled from It’s PlayTyme’s game show library, Face-2-Face Feud, Minute to Win It, Word Play, Trivia, and PlayPad Mania. Each round is scored the same way, three fast survey-style questions, and whichever team scores highest that round earns the right to direct that round’s donation to the charity of their choice.

Because the charity changes hands round to round, one 90-minute event can end up supporting several different causes instead of just one, and it keeps every team competing hard through the very last round since nobody’s eliminated early.

Note: Group size, round count, and format mix are fully customizable, this reflects a standard 90-minute, 5-round structure.

WHAT A CSR BOOKING INCLUDES

We Bring the Complete CSR
Game Show to You

Booking holiday office party entertainment shouldn’t mean handing your event coordinator a second job. When you book It’s PlayTyme, we run the show from start to finish.

✓

A professional host

a live emcee keeps the energy up and the game moving, so nobody’s standing around waiting for the next round.

✓

Buzzers, PlayPads, and game-show software

we bring our own audience response technology, built to handle groups from 20 to 300+.

✓

Sound and production

mics, speakers, and lighting matched to your venue, so you’re not renting AV equipment separately.

✓

Customized questions

every round is built around your company, your industry, and your holiday or Christmas theme (winter wonderland, Hollywood red carpet, or classic Christmas), not a generic script.

✓

Setup, facilitation, and breakdown

we arrive early, run the show, and clear out, so your team never touches a buzzer or a cable.

You choose the causes and handle the giving. We run the competition.

It’s PlayTyme runs and scores the game and announces the winning team live. Distributing the actual donation to each round’s chosen charity is handled by your organization or event organizer, not by It’s PlayTyme.

CASE STUDY

Real Event: Macy’s Marketing Department, NYC

At Macy’s headquarters in New York City, the marketing department split into 10 teams for a 90-minute charity game show. The group played five rounds, a different game each round, each scored by three fast survey-style questions. The highest-scoring team in each round earned the right to direct that round’s donation to the charity of their choice, meaning the event supported multiple causes chosen by the employees themselves. It’s PlayTyme ran and scored the live competition; Macy’s own event organizer handled the actual donation distribution afterward.
