An assembly every student plays, built around your goals

It’s PlayTyme brings live, professionally hosted game show assemblies to schools across Connecticut. Classes compete as teams, about 36 students per show take the stage by random draw, and the rest of the room plays along. Tell us what your school is working on and we confirm on the discovery call what we can build into the rounds.

Connecticut has a good reason to care about Red Ribbon Week this year: the official 2026 Red Ribbon Week theme, “Make A Difference. Be A Hero. Stay Drug Free.”, was created by a student at Griswold Middle School in Griswold, Connecticut (Red Ribbon Week theme). Red Ribbon Week runs October 23 to 31.

Connecticut requirements

How an assembly can support what Connecticut asks of schools

An assembly can support required instruction and your school climate work. It never replaces them, and the law does not require or name assemblies.

  • Health and safety instruction: Connecticut General Statutes Section 10-16b lists required health and safety instruction, including mental and emotional health, youth suicide prevention, substance abuse prevention and the safe use of social media (C.G.S. 10-16b). Section 10-19 requires instruction about alcohol, nicotine or tobacco and drugs every academic year in all grades.
  • School climate: under Public Act 23-167, the new school climate provisions became mandatory for all districts in 2025-26. Each school has a school climate specialist and a school climate committee, runs a school climate survey every two years, and submits a school climate improvement plan by December 31 each year (CSDE school climate guidance). Districts must also provide staff training in social and emotional learning and school climate.

A schoolwide game show built with your climate committee is one way to give students a shared, positive experience tied to a goal in your plan, such as belonging or respect.

Planning steps

How to book a Connecticut school assembly

  1. Tell us about your event: your date, school and town, student count, grades, the purpose of the assembly, and your budget, through the form below or our contact page.
  2. Discovery call: we talk through your schedule, room, grade split, and goals, whether that is prevention, school climate, spirit or review. We do this call before we prepare any proposal.
  3. Confirm your booking: review your proposal and lock in your date. No deposit required.
  4. We arrive, set up and host. We need two hours of uninterrupted setup access before the first show.

Price and length: approximately $2,500 for two 45-minute shows in one visit, usually split by grade. Need more time? Ask about extending the show. For a single group after school, our keypad game show is approximately $1,995. It’s priced lower because it’s built for a smaller after-school group, while the daytime package covers your whole student body in two shows.

Planning a corporate event in the state too? See our Connecticut team building page. All school options are on our school assembly programs page.
